Empowering Confidence in Students with Dyslexia
At The Winston School in Dallas, we believe that learning differences, such as dyslexia, should be understood, supported, and even celebrated. Our preK–12 college preparatory program is built intentionally for bright students who need a different approach to thrive. We help students rediscover their confidence, develop critical skills, and prepare for a successful future in college and beyond.
Whether your child has struggled with reading or attention in other schools, at Winston they will be truly seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are. Our students leave not only with improved academic skills but with the confidence and resilience to face whatever comes next.
How Winston Support's Your Child with Dyslexia

Tailored Instruction for Dyslexia
With small class sizes, personalized learning plans, and teachers trained in evidence-based reading strategies, Winston helps students with dyslexia build confidence and master foundational literacy skills. Instruction is explicit, structured, and multisensory, incorporating proven programs like Scottish Rite’s Take Flight and the SEE Program to deliver targeted, high-impact interventions. Tools such as assistive technology, oral language support, and guided practice ensure students develop the skills they need to succeed across all subjects.

Learning Plans That Adapt to Your Child
Our Testing & Evaluation team works collaboratively with faculty to craft a personalized learning plan for each student designed to strengthen literacy skills and build academic confidence. Our team works collaboratively to monitor growth and adjust instruction as needed.

Small Classes, Big Results
Small class sizes at The Winston School give students with dyslexia the focused support and structure they need to succeed. With fewer students in each classroom, teachers can provide individualized instruction, adapt reading strategies, and closely monitor progress. This setting allows for immediate intervention when a student is struggling and creates space for consistent encouragement and growth. The quieter, more personalized environment helps reduce frustration, build confidence, and ensure every student feels understood and empowered in their learning.

Resources for the Whole Learner
Winston offers targeted reading intervention, Orton-Gillingham–based instruction, and access to learning specialists who provide individualized support throughout the day, ensuring students with dyslexia build strong literacy skills and lasting confidence.
